Software as a Service

It's hard to deny that our passion and experience has been deeply rooted with the FileMaker Pro product line, but the same practices which make a 'rock solid' FileMaker Server can be applied to a host other environments. We are 'experts' at creating very secure, highly redundant, scalable servers. The 'best practices' for a FileMaker Server are almost identical to many other 'appliance' type servers. Although many of our FileMaker Servers cater to small workgroups, we also support some of the largest FileMaker Server deployments in the world.

Many of these service could be combined on a larger server environment, but without the safety, integration options, and/or security which we offer.

Types of software available

We can host many of these software packages within a 'web server' account if you are on a tight budget, but if these are 'publically-available', mission-critical , or performance sensitive solutions, our dedicated highly available servers are more secure, more scalable, and more flexible than 98% of the other providers available across the internet. When combined with the flexibility of our other services, we can offer you solutions that the 'big' providers like GoDaddy or Amazon are unwilling or unable to offer. In short, we can craft specialized servers for your unique needs. The 'big guys' are so focused on quantity, that they can/ will not tailor servers for your specific needs.

The reality is that is what we've been providing specialized servers to companies large and small for over a decade- this is what we are good at!

Divide and Conquer... just because you can stack all your services on a single server- doesn't mean you should. Splitting your resources will improve security, performance, and scalability.

Sum of the Ports

Every server environment has a number of ports which are required to operate, but if you combine multiple services on the same server, it is common to have dozens of ports open, as opposed to just one or two.

We can also limit to access more specifically with independent servers as opposed to the 'lowest common denominator' approach which a shared server forces you into. This approach also means that VPN or other security is more easily applied. Many of these 'pre-packaged' solutions are well-known solutions, which means that you get very affordable features, but it also means that the hackers also have more expertise and knowledge of these systems than a custom solution- why would you risk your security on a few dollars a month?

Better Performance

If you have two or more servers which need to work together- web and database, web & email, email & database, a custom solution which extends something like SugarCRM, etc.; the performance gains by hosting all these services in the same datacenter is tremendous.

Play well with others

When we separate each solution from each other, the issue of 'common resources' and incompatibilities goes out the door. How many times have you downloaded a 'update' for one system which created issues for another. Can can not expect a vendor to test every version against all possible conflicts. Software giants such as Microsoft struggle with these issues, so it is unrealistic to feel these smaller vendors can guarantee no conflicts. The only way to guarantee no conflicts is to keep then separate from each other.

Hybrid Services

Many of these solutions are fully mature packages which offer wonderful value; however, since we can combine multiple servers on the same network, you have the option to extend these solutions with FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, or any other environment...

You can build only the features which you feel are missing, or you can create a 'mobile' version of these solutions to run on an iPad or iPhone.
